Former Newton Teacher Sentenced to 45 Years in Prison for Child Porn

Roughly a year after he was first arrested on child porn charges, former Newton elementary school teacher David Ettlinger was sentenced to 45 years in federal prison today for charges stemming from his connection to an international child pornography site. The sentencing came down today in a Louisiana federal court, according to a press release from the Department of Justice. In addition to his 45 years in federal prison, Ettlinger was also sentenced to a lifetime of supervision.  Ettlinger pleaded guilty in August 2012 to one count of engaging in a child exploitation enterprise. Newton Teacher to be Arraigned in Superior Court Today on Child Porn Charges

David Ettlinger has been indicted on several charges.

The Newton second-grade teacher who authorities say had possession of child pornography will be arraigned today in Middlesex Superior Court on charges unrelated to his teaching position, according to the District Attorney's Office. David Ettlinger has been held on $10,000 cash bail and held on another case out of West Roxbury District Court.

Updated 5:30 p.m.  An Underwood Elementary School teacher has been arrested for possession of child pornography, Superintendent David Fleishman reported in a press conference this afternoon.  David Ettlinger, 34, of Brighton, was arrested at home this morning and pleaded not guilty this afternoon in Brighton District Court on two counts of possession of child pornography.  "It's so sad, so upsetting on so many levels," Fleishman said in a press conference this afternoon.
