Nonantum Group Plans Village Day, Hot Air Balloon Rides

The Nonantum Village Day is scheduled for June 3.

Following in the footsteps of several other Newton villages, the Nonantum Neighborhood Association has decided to plan a Nonantum Village Day -- complete with a hot air balloon rides. Monday night, the Parks & Recreation Commission gave its approval to the hot air balloon rides, according to Lois Dominique, a member of the Nonantum Neighborhood Association. The Nonantum Village Day is scheduled for Sun., June 3 from noon - 3 p.m. and will be held on Watertown Street between Adams Street and Chapel Street. The rain date is June 10. Dominique, who presented the balloon ride proposal to the Commission, told Newton Patch in an email that the rides will come courtesy of RE/MAX, and will take off from Pellegrini Park on Hawthorn Street.
