Paul Heroux says he does not have the resources to compete in what he calls the "campaign-industrial complex."
The field of candidates to fill the Congressional seat for Massachusetts' 4th District has shrunk with the announcement early Thursday morning that Attleboro resident and Attleboro-Seekonk Patch blogger Paul Heroux has withdrawn from the race "I am not seeking the nomination at this time because with limited resources there is no longer enough time to put together the sort of professional organization necessary to successfully compete in what has become a 'campaign-industrial complex,'" Heroux wrote on his campaign site. Republican Sean Bielat and Democrat Paul Heroux have joined the race for the Fourth Congressional District.
Time to add two more names to the race for Barney Frank's seat. My Fox Boston is reporting this morning that Sean Bielat will announce his candidacy for the Fourth Congressional District later today. Bielat, who ran against Frank in 2010, is scheduled to appear at the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum today at 5:30 p.m. During his 2010 campaign, Bielat lived in Brookline. After the election, he moved to Pennsylvania and has since moved back to Norfolk. The Facebook event for today's announcement indicates that Bielat's campaign hopes to raise $25,000 by today.
