New Pinkberry Opens in Chestnut Hill [PHOTOS]

The new frozen yogurt shop "swirled" free samples from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Thursday night, and was met with a line of eager froyo fans. The Pinkberry officially opens Friday, April 5.

1. Art reception. The New Art Center will host an opening reception tonight for its latest exhibit, "From the City to the World." The exhibit features "urban art" – artwork that reflects on city life – by four visual artists and several writers and video makers. Tonight's reception will be held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. 2. Pinkberry to Open Next Week in Chestnut Hill

The popular frozen yogurt chain will be opening a location at The Street in Chestnut Hill.

Following the recent opening of Sports Club/LA, City Sports, Pottery Barn and Shake Shack, it looks as though another new tenant at The Street is ready for customers.  Pinkberry will officially open to the public next week, starting with a grand opening celebration on Thurs., April 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., a company spokesman told Newton Patch Thursday. Thursday's celebration will feature "three free swirling hours" where the public can enjoy free frozen yogurt as well as raffles, giveaways and a chance to win free Pinkberry for a year. (See announcement/invite in the .pdf section to the right).  Following Thursday night's festivities, Pinkberry will be open to the hungry public on Friday, April 5, the spokesman said. City Sports, Century Bank Building Comes Down in Chestnut Hill [Photos]

The City Sports will be reopening in the new building next door and Century Bank will be moving to the new Chestnut Hill Square development.

[Updated 12:20 p.m. with information on the City Sports opening date.] As one building goes up, another comes down.  If you travel Route 9 often, you've probably noticed a few new piles of rubble at The Street in Chestnut Hill, as the building that housed City Sports and Century Bank was recently torn down.  The tear-down is just a few doors away from The Street's new, 115,000-square-foot building that will house a number of new restaurants and retail stores, including a new City Sports location, a Sports Club/LA, Pinkberry and Showcase Super Lux movie theater.  Century Bank, which closed the Chestnut Hill location in fall 2012, has decided to move its branch to the new Chestnut Hill Square development, which is slated to open in fall 2013…

Pinkberry Opening Soon in Chestnut Hill

The popular frozen yogurt shop will be opening at The Street in Newton (formerly the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center).

[Updated 11:16 a.m. with new information on the Sports Club/LA's opening.] Have you been craving Pinkberry lately, but can't make the trip to Wellesley, Cambridge or Boston? Well, pretty soon you can get your Pinkberry fix right here in Newton. Pinkberry, Cinema de Luxe Coming to Newton's Chestnut Hill Shopping Center

WS Development announced Friday the National Amusements Cinema will be a Cinema de Luxe, and teased two other stores coming to the shopping center.

Pinkberry will soon be joining the line-up of stores in the revamped Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, joining Shake Shack, which announced it was coming to Chestnut Hill last week, Sports Club/LA and a National Amusements theatre. In an email sent Friday afternoon, WS Development Director of Corporate Marketing David Fleming told Patch that the frozen yogurt shop is coming in addition to Bernard's restaurant and a Cinema de Luxe. The new tenants will be located in a new, 115,000-square-foot building that will be built on the former Macy's site. Pinkberry, a high-end frozen yogurt shop from the West Coast, also has locations in Cambridge and Boston's Back Bay. Bernard's is currently located in the Mall at Chestnut Hill.
