Whiz Kids: Newton Students Get Inspired to Give at Project 351

This week’s Whiz Kids were selected to participate in a day of service to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy.

Names: Jacob Roll and Maxwell Kozlov Ages: 14 (Jacob), 13 (Maxwell) Schools: F.A. Day Middle School (Jacob), Bigelow Middle School (Maxwell) Accomplishment:  On Jan. 14, Jacob and Maxwell were two of the 300 student ambassadors who were invited to participate in Project 351, an event that consisted of a town hall meeting and day of community service to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray, and Boston Mayor Tom Menino began the day by speaking directly to the students and asking them “lots of questions” (according to Jacob) about what inspires them to serve their local communities. Three Newton Students Selected for Governor's Project 351

The three students will take part in an annual day of service this Saturday.

  Three Newton students have been named as "student ambassadors" for Gov. Deval Patrick's Project 351 and will participate in an annual day of service this Saturday, Jan. 14.  The Newton eighth graders who were selected include Rowan Morrissey and Jacob Roll, who attend F.A. Day Middle School, and Maxwell Kozlov, who attends Bigelow Middle School.  According to a press release issued earlier this week, the three Newton students are part of a group of 250 eighth graders from across the state who were chosen by education leaders for "their exemplary service and spirit of generosity." This weekend, Project 351 will honor and celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  On Saturday, the students will meet with Patrick for a Youth Town …
