There are a number of Newton and Chestnut Hill restaurants participating in Restaurant Week, but not as many as in the past. Are you a Restaurant Week lover or hater?

A list of locations in Newton and Chestnut Hill where you can find deals for the 2012 Boston Restaurant Week.
It's that time of year again -- the Boston Summer Restaurant Week is upon us. Twice a year (summer and winter), local eateries participating in Restaurant Week offer lunches and dinners at greatly reduced prices. This year, the Summer Boston Restaurant Week features more than 200 area restaurants. But just because it has "Boston" in the title doesn't mean you have to head into the big city to take advantage of the discounted meals. Six Newton and Chestnut Hill restaurants will be participating in the event, which will run Aug. 19-24 and Aug. 26-31. The Restaurant Week menus feature a two-course lunch for $15.12, a three-course lunch for $20.12 or a three-course dinner for $33.12. Each menu is fixed with a set of two or three options for…

We lucky suburban Bostonians have a second week to enjoy the best that Newton dining has to offer at discounted prices.
Boston’s bi-annual Restaurant Week allows many of us the opportunity to head into town to try out the pricey places we normally can’t afford. But it also gives us the chance to sample the fare at some Newton and Chestnut Hill restaurants. Week One is coming to an end, but lucky for us there is a second week of culinary goodness which ends on March 18th. So make a reservation, grab your honey or a foodie friend and head out for an afternoon or evening on our town. Here is a sampling of offerings from local participants: Riverbend Bar and Grill (dinner) – Indulge yourself with a lobster mac & cheese appetizer and a slow-roasted chicken entrée. Then enjoy your choice of any item on Riverbend’s dessert menu. Lumière (dinner – wine pairings …

I don't think my opinion on a promotional-vehicle had any larger scale social commentary attached to it. Though it was acerbic, I happen to be that way, sorry. I took for granted this was Newton after all, and "differing" economic levels here don't actually "differ" that much. Again JMHO   more ›
