New Po' Boy Sandwich Shop Brings New Orleans to Newton

Owner Eric Cormier talks about how he learned about making a real po' boy sandwich and why owning Po' Boy allows him to embrace his real passion- making people happy.

Eric Cormier, owner of the new Po’ Boy sandwich shop on Crafts Street, admits he sort of did things backwards in opening his first restaurant in Everett. But he got it right before he came to Newtonville. “I ran it very, very well,” Cormier says of the restaurant he opened in 2009. “The name ‘po’ boys’ was brought to my attention, and I opened it up without really knowing about the history of the name. But then I came to really find out about it, went down there to New Orleans, and when I came here (to Newton), my focal point was making it the real deal, a real po’ boy. Grew up in New Orleans eating "Fried Oyster Po Boys" so had to try this place. Went there today. This is authentic, and maybe even better. Of course, all I tried was the "Fried Oyster Po Boy," but you can be sure I will try other items on their menu! Great job, Eric. Can't wait to come back!   more ›
