Newton Student Wins Award, Scholarship from Siemens Foundation
The Newton North senior wins a $2,000 college scholarship as part of the award.
Newton North senior Christina Chen was recently named as one of two Massachusetts winners of the 2012-13 Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement. According to a press release issued by the Siemens Foundation and The College Board, Chen was recognized with the award for being a top achiever in advanced placement (AP) courses in science, technology, engineering and mathmatics (STEM). Chen, who has enrolled in 11 AP courses to date, is one of 101 students from across the country who were recognized with an award, the press release said.
