Navigating Cold Spring Park
A search for the elusive loop
We were five new mothers, eager to take our budding naturalists out of the confines of small apartments. Our goal: to navigate Cold Spring Park and make it a familiar place to walk off extra baby weight while gabbing about sleeplessness, teething, and explosive poops. I was the fearless leader; meeting at Cold Spring Park was my idea. It was a partially selfish decision. My daughter hates the car and I live less than two miles from the 1200 Beacon St. entrance. We met in the parking lot off Beacon Street, unloaded our babes and secured them to our bodies in slings and backpacks (the roots and hills make it nearly impossible to use a stroller). I love Cold Spring Park! Each time we've gone, however, we've also gotten hopelessly lost. Usually I end up out by Whole Foods, so I end up going in and getting some kind of baked good, thus defeating the purpose of the walk. :-) more ›
