Newton-Wellesley Hospital Ranked No. 13 Locally By U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report published its list of top ranking hospitals around the country today.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is ranked in the top 15 compared to 77 local hospitals in a U.S. News & World Report list published today. The 290-bed general medical and surgical hospital was ranked No. 13 in the "Boston metro area" category and No. 16 in Massachusetts. (U.S. News & World Report has mistakenly listed the hospital as having 189 beds, according to Newton-Wellesley Hospital spokeswoman Rachel Kagno). The hospital is tied with Winchester Hospital at 13th place in the category. Newton-Wellesley is considered “high performing” in the adult specialties of geriatrics, urology and orthopedics, according to the list. Massachusetts General Hospital came in as the No. 1 overall hospital in the United States.

Report: Newton South Ranks 11th in Mass., Newton North 36th

Newton North also made the list, ranking 32nd.

Newton South High School has landed the number 11 spot in a recent ranking of Massachusetts high schools by the U.S. News & World Report. Meanwhile, Newton North also made the list, coming in at number 36 in the state. High schools in nearby towns also ranked in the top 50 include Belmont (4th), Weston (5th), Wellesley (12th), Lexington (14th), Needham (17th), Westwood (20th), Brookline (23rd), Arlington (26th), and Cambridge Rindge And Latin School (48th). The rankings come by way of the Report's annual national high school rankings list.
