Driver Crashes Car into Waban Shoe Repair Shop
The driver only suffered only minor injuries.
Updated 1:15 p.m. An 85-year-old Newton woman was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital this morning after she accidentally drove her car into the Waban Shoe Repair shop around 10:20 a.m. According to Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker, the woman told police she was pulling into a parking spot in front of the shoe repair shop when she accidentally accelerated and jumped the curb, hitting the building and an unoccupied parked car. The woman had intended to hit the brakes, but accelerated instead, Apotheker said. She also hit the concrete curb and a metal railing.
