Whole Foods is the first grocery store chain to state it will label all GMO products.
Whole Foods Market has committed to alerting customers to which products contain genetically modified organisms. According to The Huffington Post, Whole Foods announced that by 2018, all products in U.S. and Canada stores will be labeled if they contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Whole Foods will be the first national grocery store to set a deadline from GMO labeling, The Huffington Post states. “We are putting a stake in the ground on GMO labeling to support the consumer’s right to know,” said Walter Robb, co-CEO of Whole Foods Market, said in a press release on the company's web site. “The prevalence of GMOs in the U.S. paired with nonexistent mandatory labeling makes it very difficult for retailers to source non-GMO options …

The Whole Foods Market in Newtonville welcomed Braille labels to its produce section on Friday.
When Joshua Goldenberg couldn't find the batteries he wanted at the grocery store, he had a simple answer. The clever, visually-impaired youngster looked up at his mom and asked why the store couldn't just add Braille to the product shelves. Joshua and his family made a trip to the Newtonville Whole Foods on Friday to help launch the Braille Independence Initiative at the store. The Newtonville market is the first store on the East …

From tomato sauce made in the Berkshires to gelato and sorbet made right here in Newton, Whole Foods Market's Walnut Street store has everything that a locavore could want!
