Informational Meeting on Coyotes, Wild Turkeys in Newton

What's with all the wildlife in Newton? What should you know? A meeting this week will help answer some of those questions.

While one can categorize much of Newton as an urban environment, local residents still have their fair share of wildlife encounters. With past reports of coyotes attacking dogs and "crazed" turkeys taking over Newton Centre, some residents have expressed concern to city officials about Newton's more - wild - neighbors.  As a way to answer questions and provide more information to residents, the city will host a presentation and discussion about the wildlife population in Newton. The event will take place this Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the War Memorial Auditorium at Newton City Hall.  According to information on the city's website, experts from the Massachusetts Department of Wildlife will be on hand at the event to specifically …
